The Ekovilla slab is a breathable insulation that is easy to handle. The dense fiber structure keeps air inside, ensuring proper thermal insulation. The rigidity of the slab keeps corners straight, which means the insulation really fills the space intended for it – even the corners.
The panels are very easy to machine – they can be cut/trimmed with a hand saw or serrated long knives (e.g. Fiskars).

The firmness of the insulation keeps the slab corners straight to fill the reserved space all the way to the corners. Ekovilla in new buildings
The Ekovilla slab is suitable for both new buildings and renovating. As breathable houses gain more popularity, more and more elements of prefabricated houses are already insulated with Ekovilla slab at the factory.

The Ekovilla slab brings new possibilities to wood construction. The Ekovilla slab also brings the excellent properties of Ekovilla more widely into the house industry as well as to the customers of readymade houses.
Carefully install the slab on a vertical structure.
Outer walls structure with joist on the inside.
Install the slab in the vertical part of the frame grid.
The insulation is to be installed before the windscreen, except for the cold part of the grid, where the windscreens are applied before installing the insulation.

The regulated (0.09 W / m2K) density for warm ceilings structure can be created by using, for example, 100 mm Ekovilla slab between the lower beams and 310 mm of blown wool.
Air barrier paper overlaps 200-300 mm, spacing k 300 mm. The eaves area is protected with wind deflector cardboard.

Ekovilla X5 paper on top of the insulation to finish the structure.
Ekovilla strips are a wood-fiber thermal insulation that can be applied by hand. This insulation material is packed in 10 kg paper bags. The strips are suitable for smaller spaces, additional insulation and insulation repairs. This loose-fiber insulation can be poured straight from the bag into the insulation space. For improved thermal insulation you can fluff the strips in a bucket with a render mixer or a paint mixer.
Amounts for different applications:
- Attic floor: approx. 4 bags / m3
- Ground floor: approx. 5 bags / m3
- Walls: approx. 6 bags / m3
Preparations:
- Transport protected from the rain and snow
- Store in a dry place
- Wear P2 respirator during installation
- Make sure the wall windshield extends above the insulation
- Whenever possible, install a wind deflector
- Make sure there is a ventilation slit of at least 30 mm between the roof and the windshield
- Make sure the chimney perimeter is fire-insulated according to manufacturer’s instructions
Ekovilla slab in renovation
Ekovilla is perfect for additional insulation. Our insulation creates a uniform insulation layer, consisting of the same material as the sawdust and log structures, allowing the old structure to breathe. As a wood-based insulation Ekovilla gives the wall better moisture capacity, improving its functionality.
